About GO-SETU

We believe the Gospel changes everything, not just how people are saved, but how they live, lead, and love the people around them. Across East Africa, we exist to train leaders, strengthen the local church, and meet real physical needs alongside spiritual ones, because faith and daily survival are rarely separate for the communities we serve.

Our Story

GO SETU began with one woman’s conviction that children in Uganda deserved to hear the Gospel and grow in their faith. The median age of an African is 19 years. Beth started in children’s ministry with Scripture Union, and her work grew until she was appointed as regional director over children’s ministries across Africa. As her reputation grew, so did the trust placed in her, opening doors to serve in schools throughout Tanzania and Ethiopia, then serving in South Sudan as well. This work expanded beyond children’s ministry to training leaders and eventually pastors. Beth was joined in this endeavor by Dickens and Chris.

In time, they felt called to build something new, a ministry with a sharper focus on Gospel work, values training, and leadership development across East Africa. That conviction became GO SETU.

Today, that work continues to grow. There are always more opportunities than hands to meet them. You can participate in this work by praying for what is before us, making financial contributions, and for some, even coming to work with us for a season.
